Lauki Chana Dal Shammi Kebab Bottle Gourd with Yellow Split Peas Recipe
Ingredients:
1 cup yellow split peas
2 cups grated bottle gourd
1 cup onion finely chopped
1/2 cup chopped cilantro leaves
1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
Salt to taste
1/2 teaspoon mango powder
1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
3 garlic cloves
1 bay leaf
1 black cardamom
3 red dry chilies
water
Oil
1-2 green chili finely chopped (optional)
1/2 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste (optional)
Directions:
Soak the split peas in water for 2 hours. Then drain the water and cook with red dry chilies, garlic cloves, bay leaf, black cardamom and salt. Cook until peas water is dried and peas are tender. Once cooled mash split peas in a blender. In a bowl add grated bottle gourd, mashed peas, and rest of the ingredients and mix well. Make small round shaped kababs or patties. Take a frying pan spread oil on it and shallow fry the kababs till they gets crisp. Take them off on a serving plate.
