Potato and Peas with Rice Aloo Matar wale Chawal Recipe
Ingredients
3 cups basmati washed and soaked for an hour
1/4 cup oil
1 tablespoon 7 whole spices
1 cup green peas
1 cup sliced onions
2 potatoes peeled and chopped
1 tablespoon paprika
Salt to taste
1/4 teaspoon turmeric
1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
5 cups water
Directions:
In a pan heat the oil and add the whole spices and sliced onions. When the onions little brown, add potatoes, all spices and water. Cook for 15 minutes and add peas and then drained rice. Bring to a boil uncovered, then lower the heat and cover. The rice should be done in 15-20 minutes. Serve hot with salad.
