Brown Lentils Stew Sabut Masoor Dal Recipe
Ingredients:
3 cups brown lentils washed and drained
2 onions finely sliced or chopped
3 tablespoon oil
1 cup tomatoes chopped
3-4 garlic cloves sliced
1 tablespoon cumin seeds
1 tablespoon coriander powder

1 tablespoon red chili powder
1 tablespoon salt or to taste
1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
4 cups water

Directions:
In a pot add oil and onions. Once onions translucent then add tomatoes, dry spices, lentils, water, cover and cook lentils for 40-50 minutes on medium heat. If lentils are not tender then add some more water and cook for another 10 minutes. Heat the oil in a nonstick pan add the onions, garlic, cumin seeds, green chilies and sauté on a medium flame for 3-5 minutes. Garnish with tampering and enjoy with rice or bread.
