Boneless Dry Chicken with Yogurt Chicken Karahi Kadhi Recipe


3-5 tablespoons olive oil

2 tablespoons ginger minced

1 cup chopped onions

1 lime juice

1 cup yogurt

2 tablespoons garlic minced

1 lb chicken breast cut into pieces

3 tomatoes chopped

2-4 green small chilies or 1 long green chilli

1 teaspoon cumin powder

1 teaspoon black pepper

1 tablespoon coriander powder

1 tablespoon cumin seeds

1 teaspoon red chili powder

1 tablespoon salt or to taste

½ teaspoon turmeric powder

5 tablespoon fresh cilantro chopped


In a large pan add cumin seeds and add onions. Saute until translucent and then add garlic and ginger. Sauté for 10-20 seconds or until fragrant. Add the chicken pieces and cook for 3 minutes. Reduce the heat to medium and add the tomatoes, cumin, chili powder, salt, coriander, black pepper and turmeric.

Mix well and add yogurt to the chicken. Simmer until the chicken is cooked through and the liquid is mostly absorbed for about 25 minutes and then add lime juice. If there is still too much liquid after cooking for 25 minutes, cook until it thickens for another 5 minutes. Add cilantro and green chillies and mix well for another minute.  Garnish with sliced chilies and cilantro. Serve with warm naan bread or rice.
