Chickpeas Onions Masala Lahori Chikar Cholay Masala Recipe
Ingredients:
4 cups Chick Peas (Safayd Chanay)
1 teaspoon red chili powder
1 tablespoon Salt or to taste
2 medium sized onions
1-2 tomatoes chopped
2 tablespoon chopped cilantro
2 tablespoons ginger paste
2 tablespoons garlic paste
1 long green chili
1 tablespoon coriander powder
1 tablespoon cumin seeds
1 tablespoon red chili flakes
1 teaspoon 7 spices (Garam Masala)
1 teaspoon mango powder
1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
Oil
Water
Directions:
Soak the chickpeas for overnight with baking soda and salt. Rinse well and drain out the water and put chickpeas in a pot with add water and cook until soft but not mushy.
In a pan add oil, ginger paste, garlic paste & stir the mixture firmly. Add finely chopped onions, tomatoes, green peppers, dry spices and mix the mixture and stir occasionally until everything is mixed well. Now add chickpeas and enough water to cover the chickpeas. Cover and cook until chickpeas are soft and then add cilantro. Cook for another 5 minutes and then serve hot.
