Quick Spicy Potato Jhat Pat Aloo Vegan Recipe
Ingredients:
- 5 potatoes peeled and cut into cubes (aloo)
- 1 tablespoon cumin seed (zeera)
- 1/2 onions sliced (pyaz)
- 2-3 garlic cloves (lehsan)
- 3-4 black peppercorn (kali mirch)
- 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds (rai)
- 1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder or to taste (lal mirch)
- 1 tablespoon coriander powder (dhania powder)
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder (haldi)
- 2-3 tomatoes chopped (tamater)
- 3 tablespoon oil (teal)
- Salt to taste (namak)
- 5 tablespoon cilantro leaves (sabz dhania)
Directions:
Heat oil in a pan on medium flame. Add cumin seeds and peppercorn and then add sliced onions and cook until onions are lightly browned. Add mustard seeds and garlic slices. Now add potato cubes, water, red chilies, salt, turmeric, and coriander powder. Cook for 15 minutes or until potato is tender. Once potato are tender add tomatoes and cilantro and cook for additional 5 minutes. Garnish with more cilantro leaves and serve hot with rice or bread.
