Turkey With Herbs Roast in Oven Recipe

Ingredients:

• 1 turkey

• 2 cups celery

• 1 cup peppers

• 1 cup carrots

• 5-6 cloves garlic

• 1 cup onions

• 2 lemons

• 1 Orange

2 tablespoons vinegar

• 1 tablespoon Montreal spices

• 3 tablespoons butter

• 1 tablespoon onion powder

• 1 garlic powder

• 1 tablespoon sage powder

• 2 tablespoons oregano

• 1 tablespoon black pepper

• 3 tablespoons parsley

• 1 tablespoon rosemary

• 1 tablespoon cayenne pepper

• Salt to taste

• Oil

Directions:

Take a bowl and add butter, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, sage, rosemary, oregano, vinegar, parsley, salt, black pepper, montreal spices, lemon juice, orange juice, and give it a good mix to combine all the ingredients.

After cleaning the turkey and pat drying it now take the turkey in a oven safe pan and apply the sauce generously on the turkey skin, underneath the skin, cavity , back, legs and all over the turkey.

Now stuff the cavity with green peppers, onions, carrots, oranges, lemons, celery, garlic cloves and close the cavity and tie the turkey legs. Sprinkle some black pepper and salt on the turkey top and bottom. Cover the turkey and rest preferably overnight if not then at least 6 hours.

Preheat oven at 350 degree and bake the turkey in the oven for 1 1/2  hours uncover and then cover the turkey with foil and cook for another 1 hr to 1 1/2 hr or until no longer pink at the bone and the juices run clear.

Uncover the turkey and add some butter and take the juices from the pan and run it over the turkey. Cover and continue baking until the skin turns golden brown for another 30 minutes or longer. Insert thermometer into the thickest part of the thigh, near the bone and it should read 180 degrees.

Remove the turkey from the oven, cover with a doubled sheet of aluminum foil, and allow to rest in a warm area 10 to 15 minutes before slicing. Serve with gravy and salad.
